At La Grande Church of the Nazarene we not only seek to minister to the whole family, but to the family as a whole. We believe that every generation matters and want our church to be the kind of place where families recieve the encouragement and support they need to thrive.
Our pinewood derby is a fantastic time together for families. We have brackets for kids and adults so all ages can build a car and participate in the race. We usually have a few workshop nights in advance of the race if you need any tools or help putting your car together. During the event spectators are also welcome to cheer on their favorite racers. We also offer free food and drinks. Car kits are available from the church office a couple of months ahead of the race.
Out at the Jimmy Creek Ranch in North Powder families can come enjoy a western themed afternoon of fun together. Here there will be a hayride, horseback riding, horseshoes, roping practice, a hay bale race, a petting zoo, water tank play and so much more. Around suppertime we will enjoy a meal hot off the grill.
Like its title suggests we like to end summer with a bang! Our end of summer bash features worship on the lawn followed by a hamburgers and hotdogs lunch. We have an extra large extreme slip 'n slide set up, a jump house, horseback riding, and other great events. We also have free face painting and snowcones. It is a great way to end the summer and have a great time together.
In October our AMP'D Youth put on a fantastic fall carnival event full of fun for the whole family. Here the whole family can enjoy canival style games like a shooting gallery, skee ball, QB toss, a cake walk, fishing and so many more all with candy prizes. Outside the kids can enjoy some time in the jump house. We also have a snack shop with nachos, soda, and other treats.
