Leviticus 1:1-9

Sacrifice is not a word we like to hear very much. We all know that we can't avoid it entirely, but we still do our best to avoid it as much as possible because we know that it is going to cost us something. But just because sacrifice comes with a cost does not mean that it is all bad. Anything of value comes with a cost, but it is a cost we gladly bear. Sacrifice is not, therefore, about what we have to give up, but about what we give for which makes whaterver cost we bear inconsequential in comparison.
