Our governor has announced that Union County is amongst those approved to move into Phase 2 of Oregon’s reopening plans effective as of Friday, June 5th. This next phase continues to relieve group size restrictions with special allowances made for places of worship. While there are still some restrictions and guidelines in place we are pleased to announce to you that we ARE able to resume our in person worship gatherings beginning this Sunday! Outlined below you will find details about how our church will be moving forward into this next phase based upon state guidelines and recommendations from our church insurance company.
Everyone is welcome to return for in-person worship when they are ready. The new state restrictions allow for churches to have up to 250 so long as social distancing is able to be maintained. For those not yet ready to return please know that we completely understand and do not want anyone to feel rushed to return until they feel safe and are ready to do so. We are committed to maintaining the live stream on our Facebook page, YouTube channel, and our website so that anyone who is unable to attend in person for any reason can still participate in worship.
Seating in the sanctuary will be modified in order to provide space for social distancing. Feel free to sit wherever you would like (other than in sections that have been blocked off as closed) but please also help us give space to one another as needed so that everyone can be accommodated.
Sunday School is not yet able to resume at this time. Because our classrooms are not able to accommodate for social distancing they will not be available for use. We will be working with our Sunday School leaders and church board to find alternative options as soon as possible.
There will be no childcare or children’s church at this time. Children will remain with their families and join us for worship in the sanctuary. We thank God for the opportunity to worship together again in person and look forward to seeing you. Please be considerate to the needs of one another as we gather so that everyone who gathers can feel welcome and safe while we worship.
Grace and peace,
